Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri is a famous Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in Hum Aapke hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She began her career in the 1980s and came to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab where she was a part of the cast with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Next, she appeared with Aamir in Dil. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she was able to learn dance from an early age. She started acting when young and struggled through several years because most of her initial films had a bad reputation. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and she went on to become one of the best-known actresses in the Indian film industry. She took a break from her acting career after her marriage before returning to the world of entertainment. Dixit was the main character in Gulaab Gang, a film which explores women's struggles within India. Dixit is nominated in fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these the awards she's won 8. In addition, she was awarded her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her contribution to the social sector is well-known.
